TAMPA (Bay News 9) -- A Tampa couple returned from a jog Monday evening to find fire trucks in front of their home.
Tampa Fire Rescue says an electrical problem in the attic of the home at 4420 Rogers Ave. most likely sparked the fire.
Crews responded to the scene just after 7 p.m. and had the fire under control in about 15 minutes. However, while working in the smoke-filled home firefighters found two unconscious Chihuahuas.
Some medical care was provided to the dogs but they did not survive.
The damage done to the home is estimated to be about $70,000.
The home belongs to 47-year-old Ramon Tapales and his wife.
