PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- Pinellas County deputies are investigating a traffic crash that resulted in the death of a female pedestrian Wednesday night.
According to the sheriff's office, just before 8 p.m. the pedestrian was crossing Seminole Boulevard near the 9600 block when a black Hyundai Elantra hit her.
The pedestrian suffered serious head injures and was flown to Bayfront Medical Center where she died.
The northbound lanes of Seminole Boulevard will be closed in the area for several hours.
The sheriff's office says no other injuries were reported and deputies interviewed the driver of the car.
