Bay area pauses to honor veterans

BAY AREA (Bay News 9) -- Several events across the Bay area are honoring veterans today.

In addition to the 2nd annual Veterans Day Parade at the James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital in Tampa, events took place in Pinellas County at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center.

The Tampa parade featured more than 35 participating units, including service organizations, veteran units, high school marching bands, ROTC groups and Gasparilla krewes.

Other events took place at Sun City Center and at the St. Jude's Homeless Veterans Resource Center in Land O' Lakes.
