According to Bay News 9's partner newspaper the St. Petersburg Times, the former buyers are suing to reclaim the deposits they put down to purchase units at the proposed Trump Tower Tampa.
The building, a 600-foot skyscraper slated to be built on Ashley Drive in downtown Tampa, was supposed to be the tallest building in west Florida. The 190 condos were to be priced at $600,000 to $700,000.
But a series of problems plagued the project, who developers, SimDag LLC., eventually filed bankruptcy. Construction never began.
The 24 plaintiffs, who say in the lawsuit that Trump fraudulently claimed to be a development partner in the project, are seeking unspecified damages.
Trump, meanwhile, has said he was only lending his name to the $300 million project for a licensing fee.
