According to officials, the deputy was in his cruiser at Waters Avenue and Anderson Road when he was hit by another car at 3:30 a.m.
Officials said the deputy was stopped at the traffic light at the time of the crash.
Deputies said the man driving the other car was a domestic violence suspect and rammed the deputy's cruiser on purpose.
That driver was taken into custody a short time after the crash.
Both the deputy and driver was taken to an area hospital. The injuries are considered minor.
