Space Mountain back open after major renovations

LAKE BUENA VISTA -- A Disney landmark is back in business at the Magic Kingdom after a major makeover.

Space Mountain was shut down for seven months, but it's now back up and running.

Disney has done periodic soft openings for guests in Tomorrowland throughout the last week.

The roller coaster, which opened in 1975, got a complete overhaul as Disney's Imagineers recalibrated the track, made it darker inside the mountain and even installed video games for guests to play while waiting in the often long line.

However, Disney stopped short of changing the track and roller coaster cars like the company did at the attraction at Disneyland in California.
