PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- When most people think of Black Friday, they think of inexpensive DVD players and flat-screen TVs.
But according to one group, the day after Thanksgiving might be the best day to invest in something bigger. TrueCar.com, a watchdog group for auto sales, found that car dealers typically offer the cheapest prices on Black Friday.
That's good news for potential car buyers like Todd Hemphill and Leslie McMillan, who are searching for a second car. They said that after hearing about Thanksgiving Day deals, they decided to pay a visit to a local car lot.
"For something as big as a purchase of a car, it sort of makes sense," McMIllan said.
They are not the only ones in search of a deal. Toyota Autoway in Pinellas Park put out several ads to bring people to the dealership for a sneak peek of Black Friday prices.
However, even though prices will be slashed at many dealerships, customers won't truly know the discount they are receiving until they go to the car lot and negotiate a deal.
