HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- Officials confirmed that a person at Plant City High School has tested positive for tuberculosis.

The confirmed case has led health officials to recommend the school begin testing students in seven different classes, as well as all of the lunch room personnel.

A spokesperson for the district did not say whether the confirmed case was a student, teacher or staff member.

The health department will start testing students next week.

This is the third time tuberculosis has shown up in Bay area school in 2009. In May, hundreds of Armwood High students were tested for the disease.

In April, a diagnosis of TB led to the testing of students at Lakewood Ranch High School and Nolan Middle School In Manatee County.
