BAY NEWS 9 -- Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is known as a moderate Republican, but is taking some criticism from some conservative members of his party.
The attacks increased this week when Crist denied supporting President Barack Obama's stimulus plan.
In a visit to Bay News 9 on Friday, Crist addressed those accusations in an interview for Political Connections.
"I think the concept (of the stimulus plan) is very good, and we needed it," Crist said. "And we got it and we're utilizing it appropriately. And I think what's important is how you decide to utilize those dollars for the benefit of the people. That's really what it's all about."
To hear more of our in-depth interview with Crist, (including what the governor had to say about hugging President Barack Obama in February) and his race for the U.S. Senate, watch Political Connections Sunday at 11 a.m., with a replay at 8 p.m.
