Morning fog lingers over Tampa International Airport Monday morning.
BAY AREA (Bay News 9) -- The Monday morning commute featured heavy fog that blanketed parts of the Bay area.

A dense fog advisory was issued for the entire region (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Manatee, Hernando and Citrus counties).

Also, drivers were cautioned about the conditions, which lasted throughout the morning.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, some of the fog may be hit or miss.

"We have pockets of fog,' she said. "Many areas may have visibility of half a mile or less and then other areas may be clearer. Also, with the warm and humid temperatures, the fog may linger longer near the coast.'

Visibility of a mile or less was reported early today in Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Bradenton.

Along the Interstate 4 corridor, visibility of two to six miles was reported.

The fog advisory lasted until 9 a.m.

The conditions are expected to clear later today.
