HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- While many robbers go after cash or expensive goods, police say two men stole something a little less valuable.

George Anthony Allen, 45, was arrested after police said he broke into two Tampa businesses and stole Cheetos, Little Debbie snacks and $15.

Investigators said Allen broke into La Rumbita on Nebraska Avenue shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday, which was when he stole the cash from a register in the kitchen.

About 45 minutes later, police said Allen broke into the Family Dollar, also on Nebraska Avenue, and took the snack food. They said he also ripped open a candy bar and ate it before he left. However, nothing else was taken from the store.

Thirty minutes after the Family Dollar had been burglarized, police stopped Allen and another man, 22-year-old Whitney Newsome, as they were walking in the 1200 block of E. Hillsborough Avenue. Police found the stolen snacks in Newsome's possession.

Both men were arrested and taken to Hillsborough County Jail. They are both facing charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure.
