PINELLAS COUNTY -- The City of Clearwater has released the names of the two finalists being considered for chief of police.

They are Anthony Holloway, currently the police chief at the Somerville, Massachusetts police department, and John Jackson, currently the police chief at the Alamosa, Colorado police department.

"Since the final four candidates all qualified to be our next police chief, my focus shifted to which two of them would be the best match for our police department staff and residents," said City Manager Bill Horne. "Holloway and Jackson emerged as the best fit for Clearwater."

A selection committee team will visit each candidate's department the first week in January. The new chief will be named by mid-January.
