PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- A broken pump at a University of South Florida St. Petersburg dorm was giving students the cold shoulder.
And cold showers.
According to a USF spokesperson, the pump has been repaired at hot water is available again in the dorm.
The hot water circulation pump broke five days ago at Residence Hall One and a replacement took a while to arrive.
That left the 360 occupants of the the dorm having to trek to the campus' activity center for a hot shower.
Some of the dorm's students have already headed home for the Christmas break.
Officials originally thought the water would be fixed Monday but the part did not arrive. Also, students were not happy last week as temperatures took a dip into the 40s.
While some students did not mind heading to the activity center for hot water, others where not at all happy about using the locker room's showers.
In fact, according to Bay News 9 partner newspaper the St. Petersburg Times, some parents called the episode a 'borderline criminal activity.'
