Independence Day commemorates the formal adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.
Although the actual signing of the Declaration was not completed until August, the Fourth of July has been accepted as the official anniversary and celebration of U.S. Independence.
This year will be the 233rd anniversary of U.S.independence! Typical Fourth of July celebrations are marked by backyard barbecues, parades, patriotic speeches and of course, fireworks.
If you decided to host your own fireworks extravaganza at home, remember to keep safety in mind!
