PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- A sinkhole has forced a Dunedin family to leave their home.
On Wednesday, rescue crews responded to a house in the 1500 block of Fife Court after the residents said they heard loud popping noises while they were in their home.
When the women went to leave the house, they had trouble opening their front door. They could also see large cracks in the walls of the house and on the floor.
Investigators determined that a large sinkhole had opened up beneath the house, and so they condemned the house.
The two women who lived at the home are staying with relatives, as the house is no longer safe.
On Thursday, a city builder is stopping by the home to inspect the house.
