The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said a traffic argument may have led to the shooting in the Palms of Pasadena Hospital parking lot.

PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- An episode of road rage likely led to a 64-year-old man being shot Friday afternoon.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 84-year-old Nathan Snyder shot 64-year-old George S. Hall in the parking lot at Palms of Pasadena Hospital.

According to the sheriff's office, Snyder was driving his Hyundai sedan near Gulf Port Boulevard just after 3 p.m. when he cut off Hall, who was riding on his motorcycle.

The men pulled into the nearby parking lot at the hospital after the near accident. Angered, Hall approached the car, confronted Snyder and hit him in the face.

According to deputies, Snyder pulled out a handgun and shot Hall in self defense. The gunshot injury to Hall was not life threatening.

After being treated, Hall was arrested and charged with battery.
