Police said they do not yet have a suspect or a motive.

TAMPA (Bay News 9) -- A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after police said he was shot during a drive-by shooting.

Investigators said the teenager was hanging out near the intersection of North Avon Street and East Lake Avenue just after midnight when a dark green car drove by.

The car stopped near him, and someone inside the car fired several shots in the victim's direction, the report said.

The teenager was hit by a single bullet, which went through his bicep and lodged in his side. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he is in serious condition.

Police are searching for suspects. They said they have not yet determined a motive in the shooting.
