WINTER PARK -- Protesters filled a Chick-fil-A restaurant Friday to make people aware about breastfeeding.
About 40 women breast fed their infants at the restaurant where a nursing mother was told last week to cover up her breast after customers complained.
The mother, Chylain Krivensky, said she was embarrassed by what happened.
"I was just overcome with, 'Oh my gosh, so shocked. Are you kidding me? You want me to cover up my child with a towel?' No one else eats dinner with a towel on their head," Krivensky said.
She gained support from other women who breast feed, and they decided to hold a protest at Chick-Fil-A.
They said they want to make everyone aware of a state law that allows mothers to breast-feed their children in public.
Restaurant managers apologized to the woman whose breastfeeding led to the protest, and said they offered free lunch to the protesters, most of whom declined.
