PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- Crews from several fire departments battled a chemical fire in Pinellas Park Saturday afternoon.
The fire took place at a plastic and rubber manufacturing company called TSE Industries on 113th Avenue.
Only a small portion of TSE Industries typical workforce was inside and none of them were hurt. Three firefighters were treated on scene for heat-related injuries, but they're okay.
Officials said workers were transferring a product used to make polyurethane from one tank to another when insulation around the tank caught fire.
The Pinellas Park Fire Department said the sprinkler system in the building extinguished the flames.
Firefighters took out the skylights and even brought in an airboat to help with ventilation.
Investigators said the fire did about $75,000 worth of damage.
