TAMPA (Bay News 9) -- The first baby born at St. Joseph's Women's Hospital in Tampa will have a birthday surely no one will forget.
The date 9-9-09 only happens once in a century.
Carson Ann Clore was born just under 9-pounds. Nine is a lucky number for Carson's mother, Kelly, who happens to work at Bay News 9.
"Nine has always been a number in my life and obviously today is 9/09/09," she said. "We were in operating room 9, my son, Brady was 9 pounds when he was born and playing sports growing up in high school and stuff I was always number 9."
She and her husband, Brad, actually picked the day for her scheduled C-section.
"We knew we didn't want baby to be born on 9-11, so we picked 9-9-09," she said. "We thought it sound good and easy to remember."
Three E.L. Bing Elementary School students; Daria Hollingshed, David Robb, and Matthew Eastering, were also celebrating Wednesday because it's their 9th birthday.
Thousands of people across the world were also expected to tie the knot on 9-9-09.
