Tim Tebow became the SEC's career leader in rushing touchdowns, eclipsing Herschel Walker's record, as Florida beat Walker's alma mater 41-17 Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville.
The Gators got off to a great start against Georgia, as Tebow connected with Clearwater Central Catholic's Riley Cooper for a 22-yard score on the game's opening drive.
Tebow and Cooper would hook up again later in the first quarter on a 29-yard touchdown, as Florida jumped out to a 14-0 lead.
After a career-long 56-yard field goal by Caleb Sturgis put the Gators ahead 17-10, Tebow went up the middle for a 24-yard touchdown, the 50th of his remarkable college career.
Tebow would add a second touchdown on the ground, and Brandon Spikes returned an interception for a score in the win. The Gators are now 8-0 on the season, and will host Vanderbilt next Saturday.
