TAMPA - A report from AOL Fanhouse outlines several NCAA violations within USF's men's basketball program.
Many of the issues surround assistant Terrelle Woody, who was hired in 2008 to a non-coaching position by head coach Stan Heath. It is believed that Woody's hiring was involved with Gus Gilchrist's transfer from Maryland.
The violations, according to the article written by former Tampa Tribune reporter Brett McMurphy, involve Woody watching "open gyms", providing transportation for players and illegally coaching and working out players.
Heath was quoted in the report as saying, "All this little [crap] ... I don't know what this is all about. It's stupid."
USF released the following statement late Thursday afternoon:
"We will carefully review the issues raised in an internet report. If we discover any issues that warrant action, we will address those as a further matter."
