It appears that Marcus Jordan, son of basketball hall of famer Michael, will play his first UCF basketball game with his father's brand of sneaker on his feet.
A source tells BHSN's David Baumann that despite the school's deal with Adidas, Jordan will wear Nike's Air Jordan shoes in Wednesday night's exhibition game against Saint Leo.
Jordan did wear the Air Jordan sneakers in the team's scrimmage on Sunday.
The controversy stems from a story over the summer, when UCF said it would allow Jordan an exception to the school's deal with Adidas, so he could wear his father's sneaker brand.
UCF added that Jordan would wear the Adidas uniform, with the exception of the sneakers. The school said that Adidas representatives had agreed to the request, but higher-ups within the company later reconsidered.
UCF's three-year deal with Adidas is worth $1.9 million for the school, and expires in 2010.
