By Roy De Jesus BAY NEWS 9 Web Anchor -- Known as one of the great masters of sports public relations, Bobby Bowden was an even greater character in person.
Tuesday officials at Florida State University announced Bowden will retire after the Seminoles play in a bowl game.
The legendary coach spoke to his players before announcing whether he will return to coach Florida State next season.
Bowden will not be the head coach at FSU for a 35th straight year and leaves behind one of the most illustrious careers in college sports with 388 wins and two national titles.
I worked at a Tallahassee television station during the 2003 college football season.
I'm also a University of Florida grad or better known as a Gator.
I was also there when Bobby Bowden first broke the record for most NCAA wins as a Division I head coach.
His mastery of the media is incomparable.
What most stands out of this Bobby Bowden memory is no matter if he wore different colors of my alma matter, he was a class act and a nice person.
Good or bad, what are your memories from FSU's head ball coach Bobby Bowden?
