Manatee High School has done the improbable, knocking off the consensus the number one team in the nation, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, in the 5A football state semifinals. The Hurricanes won by a final of 28-20 on a cool Friday night in Bradenton. Manatee jumped out to a 10-0 lead, and held off the Raiders down the stretch.
