Six men with Gambino Crime Family charged in Tampa

Six men were charged in Tampa Tuesday as crew members of the Gambino crime family.
U.S. Attorney Paul I. Perez announced the indictment of Ronald J. Trucchio, 53; John E. Alite, 42; Steven Catalano, 43; Michael Malone, 28; Pasquale Andriano, 28, and Terry L. Scaglione, 38, on conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute.
Alite, Malone and Scaglione were also charged with Iinterference with commerce by threats or violence. If convicted of the charges, each of the named defendants faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
According to the indictment, from about 1986 and continuing until August of this year the individuals charged, along with others, comprised a criminal crew or enterprise that operated in New York, New Jersey, mid and south Florida, and elsewhere under the influence and control of the Gambino Organized Crime Family.
Included among the group's crimes are multiple acts and threats involving murder, robbery, extortion and dealing in controlled substances.
