Crosstown Expressway pillar sinks

A pillar on the Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Expressway in Hillsborough County collapsed, causing it to sink 20 feet into the ground.

The eastbound and westbound lanes are closed at 39th and 50th. Minor injuries amongst the construction crew are being reported.

"No vehicle will be placed back on until it [the bridge] is 100 percent ready to go," said Trooper Larry Coggins of the Florida Highway Patrol.

PCL Construction Company is in charge of the construction on the Crosstown Expressway.
