Clearwater Beach to keep allowing short-term renters

A judge ruled Friday that Clearwater Beach residents who rent their beach houses out to vacationers can continue to do so, as long as they have been doing so since before 2003.

Clearwater passed a ban that year prohibiting short-term rentals. Neighbors have been complaining about noise, mess, and traffic caused by the short-term renters.

Thirty-one homes are affected by the ruling.
