Texas A&M at Florida Gators

When: Saturday, 7:00pm

Where: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, 157 Gale Lemerand Dr, Gainesville, FL 32611

TV: ESPN

Coaches: Texas A&M – Kevin Sumlin, 6th Season (4-2, 48-23 overall); Florida – Jim McElwain, 3rd Season (3-2, 22-10 overall)

About the matchup: Coming off a tough to swallow 17-16 loss to LSU on homecoming weekend the season isn’t completely over for the Gators. Florida can still win the SEC East and make it back to Atlanta for a third straight season if they win the remainder of their league games.

The Aggies have turned their season around since their stunning 34 point collapse against UCLA in the season opener. A&M won four straight games until the streak ended last week with a competitive 27-19 loss to Alabama.

Wide receiver Christian Kirk is an explosive threat in both the passing and kick returning game.

Florida’s offense continues to sputter and struggle mightily, but head coach Jim McElwain says a reasonable expectation for the unit moving forward is for them to move faster. Tyrie Cleveland is questionable with an ankle injury while Kadarius Toney is doubtful with a shoulder injury.

Three and out:

1. The Gators will debut a new alternate ‘swamp green’ uniform to help celebrate 25 years since ben Hill Griffin Stadium earned the nickname of ‘The Swamp.’

2. Florida’s defense is giving up 24.2 points per game, that ranks 53rd in the country.

3. This will be the first night game of the season for the Gators, giving the school their first opportunity to showcase the new stadium lighting system they installed over the offseason.
