Countryside senior November Morton has been named this week's Spectrum Sports Athlete of the Week.

The senior basketball star has led the Cougars to a 13-1 record this season. Morton leads the team in scoring, averaging over 20 points per game.

"My biggest strengths are probably seeing the court and my mid-range game," says Morton. "That's my bread and butter. If I'm not hitting from outside, I'm also good at driving, going in, getting fouls and getting free throws in."

Countryside Head Coach Anthony Klemmer says Morton has been a cornerstone of the Cougars girls basketball program the past few seasons.

"November's the perfect captain-style player. She's the hardest working kid on the team," says Klemmer. "She's intelligent, she's relentless and never accepts defeat. She's everything you want her to be. To me, she's a great, great three-year captain and an outstanding basketball player. The best one I've ever coached."

Morton will play collegiately at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne.
