UCF is taking over New York City.

The 7-foot-6 inch Tacko Fall and the Marching Knights took to the streets Monday afternoon and plenty of interested on lookers using their phones to snap photos.

“It’s great for UCF to be on a national stage like this,” said B.J. Taylor, who joined Fall and A.J. Davis to roam the streets around Times Square.

The Knights will play in the NIT semifinals Tuesday night against TCU at Madison Square Garden.

Taylor is one of several players on UCF’s roster that is experiencing New York City for the first time.

“The sky scrapers are incredible,” Taylor said. “We thought the SunTrust building was tall, man.”

Senior Matt Williams, a jones grad, was equally impressed with his first look at the Big Apple.

“I just feel like everything is moving so fast, so many cars, people are walking, everyone is on a mission trying to get somewhere,” Williams said.

The Knights’ mission is to win an NIT championship.

But coach Johnny Dawkins is also allowing his team to enjoy their time off the court.

“Memories that these guys will have will last a lifetime and that’s what its about,” Dawkins said.

“In this type of experience, especially when you’re sharing it with your teammates and sharing it with other people.”
