The father of the man shot and killed by at least one FBI agent has now made a plea to President Barack Obama.

Abdulbaki Todashev, the father of Ibragim Todsahev, wrote the six-page letter in the hopes authorities won’t interfere with the investigation, his attorney Barry Cohen said.

Todashev has been highly critical of the U.S. government since his son was shot and killed in Orlando back in May.

Cohen says Todashev's father believes there may be a government cover-up in his son's murder and that’s why he sent the letter to the President.

"We don't have a problem with them investigating,” said Cohen.  “We don't have a problem with them talking to him more than once if that's what they thought they needed to do."

The problem is what Cohen calls the shooting of an unarmed man, though the FBI says Todashev lunged at them with a knife and they were in fear of their lives.

Before the incident, Cohen says Todashev voluntarily met with the FBI on four separate occasions but on the fifth and deadly time, the FBI went to him.

Many of the questions centered around Todashev’s friendship with Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

"They thought that he knew more about the bombings in Massachusetts in Boston,” said Cohen about the FBI agents and their line of questioning.  “And they were trying to make it fit."

In the letter, Todashev asks President Obama:

“Did my son know that he had the right to remain silent or did he have rights at all, including the right to live.....  I rely on you, Mr. President, and hope that the prosectuor’s office and the court do not let the agencies conducting internal investigations… on this case prevent the truth from coming to light so that at least some part of our grief, caused by the murder of our son, is relieved, and that the murderers stand trial instead of sit in their desk chairs.”

"We think that justice won't be served unless those people responsible will be brought to justice," said Cohen.  “And if they do cover it up, I have every confidence they'll expose it."

Cohen went on to say he doesn’t understand why it's taking so long to get the results of the investigation.  In fact, he said he’s still awaiting autopsy results from May.

Cohen is also awaiting a report from the Department of Justice that is due out next month.

Bay News 9 tried to get reaction from the FBI.  We have yet to hear back from them.

The State Attorney is also investigating.  His report is expected to be out next month.
