Meet Kiana Lollis. She’s ten years old but in just a few months she’ll be turning the big 11.

And she loves to fish.

At Hubbard’s Marina at John’s Pass she showed us some rods and reels and what have you, and then we had a little “lure” lesson.

“With a lure like this you could probably catch a snook,” Lollis said.

But this young lady has caught her share of big ones. When she recently won a fishing tournament with a cash prize, she did something pretty cool with the money.

“Well, I gave it right back to the tournament who was hosting the tournament,” Lollis said.

Lollis indeed gave the cash right back so the sponsors and had them donate it to charity.  As it turns out, this is something Lollis has done time and time again.

“Because I think of people who don’t have a lot of money or who need help,” Lollis said.  “They can have that money that I donated back.”

Lollis hasn't just donated cash, either. Among her past winnings was a brand new bicycle.

“I gave it to a little boy who wanted one for Christmas, but his parents couldn’t afford one. So I gave it to him on Christmas Eve,” Lollis said.

When another little boy had his fishing rod and tackle box stolen, as luck would have it, Kiana had just won a rod and tackle box.

You can probably guess what she did with it.

While she waits for another chance to get out on the water and fish, Lollis and her parents plan to take her cat, Decca, to visit people in hospitals and nursing homes.
