Authorities in Zephyrhills are trying to determine who walked up to an officer's home and fired gunshots into his police cruiser and home.

There were no injuries but police are still searching for two people they say are responsible for firing the shots as the officer and his family slept inside at 4 a.m. Tuesday

Officials said a bullet was found in the officer's bedroom near his bed.

Zephyrhills police stepped up patrols overnight and are watching the officer's home and neighborhood as the search continues. The Pasco County Sheriff's office also is involved in the investigation. 

Authorities are not releasing the officer's name or address for safety precautions. 

Pasco deputies are asking neighbors in the area to review security camera footage and contact them at (727) 847-5878 with any information they may have.
