Tampa police are asking for the public's help in catching a robber they believe is targeting hotels in the middle of the night.

Three hotels have been robbed in the last three weeks, all between three and four in the morning. 

Police said the suspect walks in wearing a hoodie to cover his face, then points a gun at the front desk clerks while demanding cash. 

The suspect robbed a Days Inn and Quality Inn, both on North 50th Street, and the West Wing Hotel in East Fowler Avenue. 

In all three cases, police said he was carrying a New York Yankees backpack.
