A dog is now safe and sound back home after getting stuck in a storm drain early Wednesday morning.

The Port Richey Police Department was called out to the intersection of Bay Boulevard and Miller Bayou around 6 a.m. regarding a dog stuck in a storm water drain.

Thanks to the public works department and the fire department the dog was rescued and returned to his owner, Wesson Williams.

The dog, Taffy, is a 15-year-old male poodle.

Officials did not say how Taffy got stuck in the storm drain.
