Twentieth Century Fox released the final theatrical trailer on Tuesday for 'War of the Planet of the Apes,' the final chapter in the 21st Century revival of the classic 1960s sci-fi saga.

'War' follows up on 2014's "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," which was well-received by both critics and audiences. It was the eighth highest grossing film of that year, and the highest grossing film for the series as a whole.

The "reboot" of the "Planet of the Apes" saga began in 2011 with "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," which starred James Franco and actor/motion-capture performance specialist Andy Serkis and presented a new origin story for the series.

Serkis returns for a third turn in "War" as Caesar, the proud, noble chimpanzee leader of a tribe of genetically-enhanced apes. Judy Greer and Karin Konoval also return, reprising their roles as Caesar's wife, Cornelia, and orangutan Maurice, respectively.

Joining the cast for "War" is Woody Harrelson, who plays "The Colonel," the ruthless leader of an army of humans bent on making a final stand against the Apes.
