In Washington D.C., "A Capitol Fourth" is set to light up the skies over the National Mall. The Beach Boys, the Four Tops, and the U.S. Army Band will provide musical entertainment before the fireworks.

According to the National Parks Service website, 6,500 fireworks shells will be used to create the capitol's fireworks spectacular. Around 150 NPS employees and more than 100 volunteers will be at work on the National Mall during the show, and another 50 will be stationed on the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

The concert is aired each year by the Public Broadcasting System. This year, they've included several cameras providing online feeds, so that viewers can choose their view as the fireworks go off.
