A local nonprofit is working to help familes recover from Hurricane Irma. Current Initiatives plans to wash and dry approximately 300 loads of laundry at two Pinellas County laundromats for free.

The Laundry Project brings renewed hope to thousands of people nationwide by providing the funds and items necessary to clean clothes and linens. This is especially needed as many families in the area have unexpected expenses due to the recent hurricane.

Redner Family Foundation and LaundryCares Foundation are sponsoring the event, however additional volunteers and supplies are still needed for the projects. Current is accepting donations of surplus bottled water residents may have. Drop-off locations include:

  • Starbucks - 3409 W Bay to Bay Blvd, Tampa, FL 33629
  • Independent Bar and Café -5016 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33603
