Hurricane Maria is east of the Bahamas now, 365 miles east of Nassau, moving north-northwest.

Strong shear is impacting Maria now, and generally will continue as the storm moves north. It will stay east of the U.S.

It will gradually weaken with the shear and the cooler water it will move over. There will be swells and dangerous rip currents along the east coast of the U.S. over the next several days.

Lee is now a tropical storm. It is small and is no threat to land. It is likely to strengthen but stay in the middle of the Atlantic.
