The man whose body was found Monday morning in Bradenton has been identified, and deputies are treating the death as a homicide.

Manatee County deputies were dispatched to the 3500 block of 26th Avenue East in Bradenton just after 8:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a body in the area.

A worker had found the body of a black man about 30 yards south of 26th Avenue, deputies said.

Detectives identified the man as Michael Angelo Jacoby Grantley. He would have turned 42 years old next week.

An autopsy will be performed to determine exactly how Grantley died.
