There were no injuries Thursday afternoon after a reckless driver led authorities on a wild chase in Hillsborough County.

  • Man, 27, in custody after reckless driving, pursuit in Brandon
  • Fady Suleiman drove through traffic, into oncoming traffic, around houses
  • Stopped and taken into custody. Reckless driving among his charges

The driver of a silver Nissan Altima used not just his side of the road but the side of oncoming traffic.

Sheriff's Office helicopter video showed the driver, later identified as 27-year-old Fady Suleiman, weaving through traffic and sometimes into oncoming traffic.

The situation unfolded near Bell Shoals Road and Bloomingdale Boulevard just before 5 p.m.

Deputies followed Suleiman into neighborhoods, over driveways and even around houses.

The sheriff’s office eventually used stop sticks to get Suleiman stopped. He surrendered as soon as he got out of his car.

Deputies said it remains unknown what started Suleiman's erratic driving spree.

He is facing charges of reckless driving among others.

Suleiman was just released from prison last October. He has been in three times for assault, robbery home invasion, weapons charges, battery on a police officer, Burglary, driving without a license, passing bad checks, fleeing police and grand theft.
