Police said the fiancé and Giselle Taylor, 27, live together in a Tarpon Springs home and got into an argument at 4 a.m. because he would not crack her back. Taylor then walked into the garage, removed her gun from a glove box, loaded the pistol and approached her fiancé, according to the report.

Police said Taylor told detectives her intent was to scare her fiancé, and he didn’t react the way she wanted. That’s when police said Taylor pointed the gun at their 2-year-old boxer and fired one round into the dog's upper left torso, killing the dog.

Tarpon Springs Police said Taylor fled the home in her car and was stopped a short while later. Officers found the gun and arrested Taylor for felony animal cruelty.

According to the arrest report, Taylor was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Taylor’s father said the couple were celebrating the fiancé’s birthday and he was shocked by the allegations. He explained his daughter loves animals and even dreamed of opening a pet store someday.

The fiancé declined a request for an interview.

Taylor was released from the Pinellas County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
