A brand-new show featuring the characters from Disney-Pixar’s “Up” is coming to Walt Disney World.

  • "Up"-themed show coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom
  • Show replaces Flights of Wonder, which closes Dec. 31
  • New show to debut spring 2018

Disney shared the news Monday on its official parks blog in the latest round “12 Days of Disney Parks Christmas” announcements.

The new show will debut spring 2018 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  It will be located in the Caravan Theater in the park’s Anadapur village, replacing Flights of Wonder. The last day for Flights of Wonder will be Dec. 31.

In the as-yet unnamed show, senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his furry friend Dug will discover species of birds from around the world. The new experience will offer guests a chance to experience various winged creatures up-close.

An official opening date was not given.

The new show begin just in time for the 20th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
