United Launch Alliance successfully launched a Delta IV rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Saturday.

Prior to the launch, ULA encountered an alarm connected to the swing arm system. A hold was put into place while engineers worked to resolve the issue.

Engineers deemed all systems health after finding no issues. A new launch time was set for 8:18 p.m.

The Delta IV is carrying the ninth satellite in the Wideband Global SATCOM system for the U.S. Air Force.

The satellite, called WGS-9, will join eight other satellites already in orbit.

A total of 10 satellites are planned for WGS.

The system is used to enhance communications capabilities for U.S. troops in the field.

ULA has another launch planned for later this month.

An Atlas V rocket will launch from Cape Canaveral on March 24. The rocket will send the Orbital ATK Cygnus cargo spacecraft, which carries supplies to the International Space Station.

The window for that launch opens at 9 p.m.
