Fans have been eagerly awaiting footage from the upcoming sequel to “The Force Awakens.”

“I’m so proud of this movie,” said director Rian Johnson at a panel on Friday.

Josh Gad hosted the panel which also featured Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, Daisy Ridley who plays Rey, John Boyega who plays Finn, Mark Hamil, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran who plays Rose.

Gad, known for his role as Olaf in Disney’s “Frozen,” tried to get Ridley to disclose details about Rey. “Is your name Rey Skywalker?” Gad asked.

Ridley didn’t answer his question, but she did share this “The Last Jedi” tidbit: The film will go deeper into Rey’s story. She added (talking about Rey meeting Luke), “it’s difficult when you meet your heroes because it might not be what you expect.”

Fans were also introduced to a new character named Rose, played by Tran. She is part of the resistance and works in maintenance, said Johnson.

Now back to the trailer. Brace yourselves. There’s a lot to take in.

“Breathe, just breathe” are the first words uttered in the trailer.  Most of the action takes place on Ahch-To, the planet where Rey finds Luke Skywalker at the end of the previous film.

There’s also a scene with Rey wielding a lightsaber with Luke on the planet. Perhaps a training session?

In addition to Luke and Rey, there are shots of Poe Dameron running to his fighter, battle sequences, and Finn in a pod.

There was also a glimpse of Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia. Fisher died last year.

At the end, a voice says: “It’s time for the Jedi to end.”

In addition to the trailer, Lucasfilm shared the first official teaser poster for the film.

It features an image of Rey holding a lightsaber that’s shooting up to the sky. On either side of the lightsaber are silhouettes of Luke and Kylo Ren. The poster bears a resemblance to the teaser poster for “Return of the Jedi.”

“The Last Jedi” hits theaters December 15.
