Captain America shield toss

Disney Enterprises has filed a patent for a Captain America “shield throwing” experience.

Users would wear a physical shield with a rail system on their forearm. A throwing motion would cause the shield to slide, while sensors would generate a virtual shield.

According to the documents, users would also be able to hit targets such as villains in a “simulated battle scenario.”

Eat to the Beat

Speaking of Disney, the lineup for the 2017 Eat to the Beat concert series has been released.

Eleven new acts, including Kenny G, Postmodern Jukebox and American Authors, join returning favorites such as Boyz II Men and Hanson.

The concert series is part of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, which begins Aug. 31.

Universal building more resorts?

Universal could be adding more resorts on its property.

Plans recently presented to the Orlando Municipal Planning Board suggest that.

The proposal calls for new resorts to be built on the former Wet ‘n Wild property, adding 4,000 hotel rooms to the International Drive corridor.

Wet ‘n Wild closed Dec. 31, 2016. Universal has since opened a new water park, Volcano Bay.
