Legoland Florida General Manager Adrian Jones has been promoted to divisional director of Midway North America, putting him in charge of two dozen attractions, parent company Merlin Entertainments Group announced.

Those attractions include brands such as Madame Tussauds, Sea Life Aquarium, the Orlando Eye and Legoland Discovery Center, the park said in a news release.

In August 2010, Jones was appointed general manager of what became Legoland Florida Resort. He oversaw the conversion of the former Cypress Gardens site into Merlin's fifth Legoland, which opened to the public Oct. 15, 2011, the park said.

Under Jones, Legoland Florida has expanded to include a water park, a 152-room hotel and the 166-room Legoland Beach Retreat.

Jones' successor at Legoland Florida has not been announced.
