When you're a self-proclaimed "Guardian of the Galaxy," you're bound to get a job at NASA, right?

  • Fourth grader writes to NASA, applies for job
  • Jack Davis is a self-proclaimed "Guardian of the Galaxy"
  • NASA responded to letter encouraging Jack's dream

One little boy thought so, and wrote to NASA, applying for the Planetary Protection Officer position

Fourth grader Jack Davis loves space and science, and like most little boys, aliens! So he took it upon himself to write to NASA.

Jack said he would be a good fit for the Planetary Protection Officer job because his sister says he is an alien and he has seen almost all the space and alien movies.

He also said in his letter that since he is young, he can learn to think like an alien.

And as a "Guardian of the Galaxy," how could NASA pass up that offer?

Director of the Planetary Science Division, Dr. James Green, wrote back to Jack with much enthusiasm.

Green wrote to Jack saying how the Planetary Protection Officer position is a very important job and gave a little description of what the job entails.

"We are always looking for bright future scientists and engineers to help us, so I hope you will study hard and do well in school. We hope to see you here at NASA one of these days!"

We hope Jack fulfills his dream later in life!
