United Launch Alliance is set to launch an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Sattion on Thursday.

The rocket will be carrying the fourth Space Based Infrared System GEO satellite into orbit for the U.S. Air Force.

The SBIRS GEO Flight-4 satellite is designed to detect missiles for the U.S. military.

It will join a network of three other SBIRS satellites.

The satellite was built by Lockheed Martin in California before being shipped to the Space Coast in October.

The 40-minute launch window opens at 7:52 p.m.
